EMA Taekwondo Black Belt Self-defense Techniques. These specific skills are required for our 2nd Degree Black Belts and up.

(overhead stab = turning the knife into your opponent throat for take down)
-Attacker steps forward with the right foot and strikes down to your face with the weapon in his right hand.
-Slide your left foot up to 10 o’clock and block attacker’s forearm with your forearms. Then, use the right hand to grab attacker’s right wrist. At the same time, grab attacker’s right upper arm with your left hand.
-With both hands on your attacker’s arm and wrist, guide his arm and the weapon clockwise and into his body.
-As your attacker pull his right arm back to resist your hold, use his momentum to push his arm back up toward his throat area while keeping your left hand on his right shoulder.
-Sweep the back of his right knee with your right leg. Yell!
-Remove the weapon if it’s safe to do so, otherwise, get out to a safe distance with your guards up.
