This strike is very devastating and will never damage your hands !! This is one of top 3 strikes of Krav Maga along with groin kick and Hammer strikes.

This is ridiculous. Even the instructor's technique sucks. #1. No head movement. You're going to get punched in the head, and you're going to go down. #2. WTF are you doing with your feet there, Twinkle Toes?

Boxing and MT beats this shit to death,do you know why cuz the practitioners and their ko abilities are tested against harder and more skilled opponents,in real engagements in the ring,KM however makes a great addition to either any of these two arts.

This martial art is very very effective because it's very difficult for others to block

it depends how good you are with that strike… i know guys who are searching for your fingers. Most of the time, they catch you not when you strike, but when you keep your hands up (your stance) with palms opened. Imagine the other guy uses a slow jab just to see how you react and he catches your fingers. The fight could be over without begging… You probably think you will strike first, taking the opponent by surprise, but what if you don't hit him right. What's next? a storm of palm strikes?

don't use the palm heel strike EVER? if the other guy is catching your fingers you lose. You will be either humiliated or you will end with your fingers broken. DON'T USE THE PUNCH… the early take down is the safer strategy against any opponent and it doesn't matter your speed or your power if you know the technique.

fake jab (adversary blinks) -> take down (doesn't matter how big he is) -> elbow or punch to the face (control him so he can't turn you on you back) -> get up -> kick him with the foot in head.

I can generate MUCH more force with a palm strike than an actual closed fist PLUS you reduce the odds of a broken wrist. It is all about target and contact placement.

If you attack them with this stuff and they are bigger than you, they are just gonna be REALLY ANGRY now. They will then proceed to hurt you MUCH more severely than had you not tried to defend yourself!

it seems odd, but bas rutten used to knock people out like that lol, this to me seems more like something you would do if the attacker is a tall guy or a guy with an iron chin that will break your knuckles. But I think women should punch with their knuckles, ThEY GOT RINGS!! Big metal sharp things that hurt. I think the best thing a woman can do is trick him into falling in love with him then breaking his heart. I still think screaming is underrated. A womans nagging scream makes us men run.

No, this martial art whas not actually designed by the japanese legend E.Honada. It whas actually designed by a jew in ww2 to defend him, other jews, and jewish blocks. After ww2 it whas further developed to be used in the old IDF (Israeli defence forces) and then eveb further developed to be used in the new, modern IDF.

@pokoto007 it's actually much safer than a punch. the bones in the wrist are much stronger than the phalanges of the hand.. ( 4 times the size) if you know how to do a palm heel strike, you will have a much higher "PSI" ratio than with a punch.

Closed fists especially to the head risk the chance of breaking your own knuckles. People hope they can overcome a fight with a broken knuckle which is possible. Palm strikes lower this risk especially to the chest. Hardening ones knuckles is possible but usually takes time and many methods cause pain. I use closed fists to the jaw myself. I understand and respect what they are doing. She does over exagerate when she pivots for a strike. This is a beginners technique.

@levi8then My friend, that is why when people occassionally ask me to teach (i am not a good teacher hahah) I always start with basic structure. I have seen some self defense vids that "to me" seem like they'd get themselves into deeper trouble. I never "dance" around either due to wanting to conserve energy and reduce risk. I attempt to Never take risks. I have a feeling the krav maga we see here is not the original? My family kung fu is more like wing chun or southern mantis not tae kwan do.

@sloppymantis I agree and disagree. Because if she uses inefficient attacks that would aggrevate an attacker instead of stopping him or shocking him to open a window of escape the attacker may become more aggresive. But I totally agree with sloppymantis "action is superior to inaction". There are some punks out there who attack ppl because they think there easy prey but if the victim fights back they scare off.
She should be learning techniques that handle both situations.

I really don't think teaching untrained people to use Palm-Strikes as a means of self defence, especially to the chest area, this is really sloppy.
