hi guys. Another great discussion. Just wanted to comment on a couple of things. I'm a long-time prepper in New Zealand. We have a group but many of us are over retirement age now so need to enlist a few younger ones to pick up some of the heavy lifting. On a positive note – there is a lot of useful knowledge and skills amongst our membership. We (the wife and I) grow 90% of our fruit and veg along with herbs for herbal remedies, source our own firewood, have rainwater collection and filters, alternative power, comms, medical kits and a good physical library of books. So, we are ready for most events. We always joke that if we prep for the zombie apocalypse, we are pretty much ready for anything.
A personal SHTF can come in many forms. For me and my wife it was when we both found ourselves unemployed at the same time. Fortunately, because we were prepped, we had several months of cash put aside in a safe which covered all our usual bills and because we had a good store of canned and dried foods along with what we were already growing in the gardens, we didn't have to worry about buying food, cleaning products, toilet paper etc.
We don't have a firearms licence or guns – we do have long bows, cross bows and air rifles – BUT some of our group do have firearms licences and guns that would be available to share in a SHTF.
Thank you for all you guys do. There is always something in your videos for me to learn.
PS please forgive the English (correct) spelling of certain words.

You are always talking about prepping for these long term scenarios….3,6,12 months. Have you ever discussed what is going to happen to a modern home over the course of a year with no heating or cooling? All that moisture is going to have so much mold and rot the drywall will literally be falling from the ceiling making the house unhabitable. In that time frame using resource gathered water multiple people are going to get several rounds of GI/intestinal illnesses that put them completely out of action for 2-3 days. Just keeping paper products dry and clean over that time period is going to be a major challenge. Once it's known you are established with supplies to last past the 2 month mark society will have given up on anyone restoring order. You talk about bartering but you would be instantly marked as someone having resources and targeted by multiple people most likely because who are the ones you are bartering with. .others in need. I ask because your channel spends so much time talking about getting this stuff but you never discuss application or the realities or challenges likely to be faced. Why store rice and beans for a year if you'll never be around to eat it…. you're just feeding the person who will most likely be ending you. Long term survival in a SHTF world is brutal and ugly.

One single shot 12 gauge off brand there’s was nothing on the shelves once I got my paperwork in order. Plus fuel for this platform was scarce. And wait in lines after lines. Chasing it in 2021 that whole year. Didn’t matter if you had money or not. We were competing for the tools. I always was a gardener but didn’t know how important it was today just by learning from my mom and dad when I was a child. I’ve tried to keep stocking up. But my cupboard are bare. Everything I bought in 2020-2024 has been used up. I’m struggling but all my family thinks I’m krazy. The sky is falling and I’m making stone soup. Sooch and Robbi on point.

I bought my first pew pew at 50. I always felt safe living in Los Angeles but after 2020. All I saw was History repeating itself.

A UV flashlight is good for tracking urine tracks. Mice and rats have very little bladder control. So wherever they go, they're constantly "going". The urine will glow under UV. That will tell you where you need to put traps

I try to be aware of what people around me are doing. I started to seriously put everything away. The economy collapsed.1980 husband was laid off . His friends were dumpster diving. Lost their homes. We didn’t. We didn’t need to buy. Used minimum utilities.. unemployment extensions ran out. We made it . We made. Kept home and family together. It can happen here.

Robbie Lee said something that I've known for years. I put my children in training pants at about age 1.5 years old, and they were potty trained REAL QUICK. I saved a lot of money, and they didn't wet their pants except for a couple of times.

I don’t think hunting will dry up as quickly as you think. No way is there 10 million people who know even the slightest thing about killing and harvesting and properly storing meat. There is plenty, I mean plenty of wild life to go around for quite some time. Think outside the box
