While I am mostly prepared for the typical shortages, outages and modern short and medium term crisis management I have an eye towards long term if it happens.
My thesis statement is this; "Every crisis contains the seeds of multigenerational wealth."
Prep well, be ready to put people to work increasing your wealth. Having food stored is only one part of the equation. Hand tools for gardening, construction, cottage manufacturing, the skills to use them and the ability to teach will turn a home into a manor and the homeowner into a lord of the estate.
Our hobbies are a major part of our prep. We are gardening, planting fruit trees, berry bushes, working a grape vine. We also sew, crochet, cook, bake, fish, shoot, reload, bicycle, maintain our tools, sharpen our knives. Our hand tools will work in the garden, dig a well, an outhouse, cut down trees, mix mortar, butcher meat, grind grain, make sausage, can food, make pickles, make beer and wine, turn that into vinegar, make clothes, buttons, fertilizer, maintain bicycles.
I won't trade for much, but I will feed and shelter someone that works for me.
The neighborhood has a few others with these types of hobbies, several gardeners, we have someone who sews better and makes better patterns, and we have a hobby blacksmith/mechanic. We know someone with a larger orchard, someone with goats, several with chickens.

My physical barter items are mostly things that I can carry with me on an evac. Fire starting items, sewing, fishing items, and garden seeds are good for that. My most valuable barter items are my lifetime of knowledge and skills. Among those skills are primitive and advanced survival, combat field and clinical medic, computer and electronics technician, agricultural and currently state certified master gardener and master naturalist.
