Hello Everybody! Welcome to Episode Twenty-Three of Boxing With Ben.

In this Episode, we are going to take a closer look at the Israeli Crafted Fighting System, Krav Maga. We are going to look at the context in which this fighting system was developed, the effectiveness of this fighting system within its intended context and the fundamental principles of Krav Maga if you were to approach this fighting system from an Israeli perspective.

I am then going to move on to discuss ‘exported Krav Maga’ or ‘westernised Krav Maga’. Krav Maga schools can be found now throughout the western world. I am going to talk about the quality of these schools compared to the schools in Israel, I am going to talk about the syllabuses for these programmes and the applicability of the skills taught within these programmes in a UK context as a layperson who wants to develop some skills in self-defence.

I am then going to summarize by assessing the effectiveness of Krav Maga as a means of defending yourself in an uncontrolled situation overall, and will conclude by paying Krav Maga its dues and ‘coming down on a side of the fence’ with regards to the ‘Is Krav Maga useful in a UK context?’ question posed in the title.
