How to solve a watercolor problem you didn’t know existed! KarambitKnives, com

qcreek11 Jun 09

Everybody loves to swatch. I have heard people say that they buy paintboxes just to have the pleasure of swatching the contents. That they turn to a paintbox and swatch it just for the comfort factor… Now, that’s not to say I advocate that. I get my thrills elsewhere. But it’s undeniable that having a set of color chips to go with each box of paints you own is sometimes very handy. Especially when you don’t use a set very often. How to organise these color swatches? Here’s one solution I’m planning to make part of my studio routine from now on.

About my brushes
I have always bought my favorite brushes from Drawell direct from Japan. They are handmade in Japan. Drawell will ship readily to anywhere in the world. The prices on their website are in Japanese currency but if you send Mr Maeyama an email he will give you prices in other currencies. The brushes I use are the Golden Nylon Series 11-2, and I use mostly sizes 7or 9 and 10 and 13.

I like having my large sheets of swamped colors on the wall in my studio but I think on the ring might be a nice way to use for when I travel just pull the ring for the pallet I throw in my suitcase and drag it along with me
