The latest video of Code Red Defense is how to use low kicks for knife defense. Low kicks are very important knife defense techniques that can save your life. When your attacker is coming at you with a knife, you obviously want to trap the knife hand or try to parry the knife so that you don’t get stabbed or slashed,
If you can escape the situation by running away, it certainly can be a valid option in certain situations.
However, if you are in a confined space such as an elevator, a stair case, or any other small room where you can’t really escape, you need to strike your attacker to prevent him from coming at you again.
What are the best kicks to use for knife defense, you might ask? Well, usually they are low line kicks. They can distract your attacker and make him “think low” where the pain is, rather than thinking about stabbing you.
A knife attack is extremely dangerous, so if it can be avoided all the best for you. Use your awareness and intuition to avoid getting attacked. If you do get attacked, you need to take action quickly, you need to fight back with all you’ve got!
Use low line kicks, use an improvised weapon if you can, use your environment and your footwork to move around quickly, but never forget to strike your attacker.
We hope that you enjoyed these knife defense techniques.

I agree that keeping distance is important. However, kicks that low bring you in too close to the knife. If done the way demonstrated here with excessive back lean it will compromise your own balance. The best opening kick is the front heel to the lower torso. It is penetrating and packs a lot of power. If the attacker is closer the next move is a shin round-kick just above the knee. Both techniques unbalance and can disable an attacker leaving room to escape.
CoderedDefense is Gay
The things they teach is gay too
that's what i always do (when training) a low kick at the tibia or knee can hurt badly, the oponent don't see it comming and is surprised. taht give me opportunity to strike or get away. he also can lose his balance ant become very vulnerable(is that correct ?)
Why do every martial arts defense against knife starts with a knife stance as if in streets people show up standing like that ready to face off. Knives come out of nowhere and there is no time even to strike a pose, get the stance and stare at killer as if you are gonna kick his ass. Not convincing at all.
Kick him in the balls
Idiot in knife or any fight on street first he is gonna come inside of your kick distance I mean very close to you and your gonna be shocked than kicking on foot like you did in your dreams because heart rates to the peak and you can’t see his leges properly and the knife coming towards you at the same time.guys Krav Maga teaches way better and effective methods if your searching for self defence.
1:04 PAUSE WTH "forgets about using the knife" NO YOU DUMB SHIT, you take the knife from him while stunned you dnot let them keep the freaken knife
There's plenty of videos about defending knife attacks and all but none I've seen where they explain what to do if the attacker uses their empty hand as a leveraging tool, to pull and push and keep you at the distance they want. Can you do a video of what to do in that situation? Thanks and nice educational videos, love the reality based self defense!
audio is not very good. difficult for me to hear clearly. needs work.
Thoughts on push kick or teep to the torso/gut to keep distance as well or is my leg gonna get cut?
brilliant. well said
very good drill.. but you can imagine a lot more.. for example there is usually 2 attackers (1 with knife and the other one just for the look out)
What if they see you doing this, and then they prepare to attack your legs when you kick next time?
nick you kinda look like negan from the walking dead haha
Thx for the details ND!
thnx..CRD
