Learn Self-Defense

The most important thing to remember if ever you’re in a knife situation is to listen to your attacker. If he’s asking for any of your personal effects, such as your wallet or jewelry, just give it to him. No amount of personal effects is worth your life.

If he really wants to fight you, keep your distance from the knife. Don’t make any attempts to grab it or disarm the arm holding the weapon, you can get injured in the process.

The last thing you want to do is to try and run or turning your back to him. By doing so, you’re putting yourself at risk of getting injured. Always face your opponent and only attempt to escape if you’ve managed to disarm him or put him at a disadvantage that allows you enough time to get away.

A great self-defense technique is to kick them in their lower body. By striking low, you’re having him concentrate on his lower body and you can then strike “high” right into his face. Since he will be focused on the lower part of his body, he won’t expect you to strike him high.

However, timing is everything so you need to strike him high as soon as you’ve hit him low.

Practice these self-defense techniques with your partner to develop your timing and effectiveness.

This dude is much better than a lot of these self defence channels. Because he recognises that you don't know what the other guy is going to do.

Good thing I always carry my karambit knives with me so that I'll have a better chance of defending myself in any real self-defense scenario involving knives.

If they're intimidating you, they probably don't actually want to stab you, so…I take out my gun; but seriously, this is a life threatening move, so maximum force is warranted. Do what is necessary to escape, but don't engage if it can be avoided.
