Just realize hopefully not but chances are you will be injured after. So once the threat is gone be sure to get checked or check yourself for any injuries. Happened to me in a little scuffle and just a small cut from the concrete (I assume) got infected and I never realized i had one until it did. So just check yourself for even the smallest shit. Cause, after all, hopefully, you arnt the one who attacked yourself. So why chance the extra risk. Get that neosporin out and maybe a mirror and keep those possible infections away.

I know this is an old video, but how does the karambit not cut your pocket open when you deploy it as it's coming out of the pocket?

Bro no disrespect but tactical knifes are fixed "one peice on metal" not flip outs or the one's you have with all them moving parts.

When I was 18 I had a meth head try to rob me on my lunch break while sitting in my truck. I had always just played around with deploying my utility knife. Always only thought about using something of the nature in a definite situation. Anyways, when his upper body entered my truck, and out of instinct I grabbed it from my pocket, openinging it at the same time. That was enough to put fear into him, and he ran from the scene. People mock this type of thing, yet just basic practice might make a huge difference in something going your way or not.

I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Very well made. Quick question. Will you be in trouble if the cops find you with this knife?

You’re very entertaining and educational. I like your contents. It’s a deadly weapon and should be used with instructions. Can you make an instruction video on How To Fold The Karambit?

Ok, what about if you don't have a primary weapon? That changes a lot it would seem.

Great video. The first thing you need to do if you open carry a side arm is get a GOOD triple retention holster. Having a good holster gives you a fighting chance to retain your firearm and win the fight.

I see exactly 0 advantage of using a folding karambit over a small fixed blade or even a regular folder.

That's why I carry a karambit for close in, for distance I have an intermediate force option for if I have distance and no headwind. the most likely attack I would deal with is either harassment or a close in situation involving fists, and I need something explainable as a "tool" so a hawkbill folder works. My knife for utility has a combo knife blade, box cutter blade, and a clip for holding my cards and cash, rather not dull my nice karambit.

It looks to me like there are 3 or 4 steps requiring fine motor skills to deploy the Karambit. And if you're wearing gloves, forget even trying to use this thing. Beating the speed and reliability of drawing a fixed blade isn't easy and this sure ain't it.

Guy should've mentioned where the karambit came from and what sytems specialize them for people who don't know nothing about the karambit lol Martial arts that use them is eskrima/arnis/kali or silat

Having a quality knife which can be quickly deployed provides a second deadly means of force to use for your self defense, or as you pointed out, for the defense of your firearm. No weapon or level of skill is guaranteed to prevent harm to you in every possible situation. However, I carry a karambit or a fixed blade knife every single day in an addition to whatever firearm I may be carrying. While I have never had to use either, and hope I don't, I train for using them and continue to watch instructional videos like this one to gain new tips and skills. Thanks for sharing an exceptionally good training video!

just started training with a karambit a few months ago! got 2 fixed bladed and two mantis Karambits which are like fox clones without the g 10 its nowhere close in quality finish etc but it cuts great and roughly 10 $ my fixed blade ones were 5$ lol i used to either have an M tech 10 inch ring dagger for self defence or a little Urban pal push dagger with my Chinese multitool that has a great half serrated blade bigger than the one on my Charge which i cant afford to lose although now i have really fallen in love with the cold steel fgx delta dart
