Essential Knife Sharpening Tools and Techniques That Won't Destroy Your Knife KarambitKnives, com

Got a dull knife? Want to sharpen it without destroying the edge, or the knife itself? In this video, I go over a few tools and techniques you can use to bring a crappy old dull blade back into service. This isn’t a comprehensive video that covers every possibility, because that would be impossible, but it covers just a few of my favorite methods that work awesome. And you don’t even have to spend that much money, though you certainly can if you want to.

One of the products I mention in this video is the Edge Pro Apex Knife Sharpening System, though they probably won’t be too happy about it since I tell you to buy a cheap chinese knock-off instead, but the choice is entirely up to you. I’m sure the Edge Pro is very nice, but it costs 10x more and having used both, I can’t argue that it’s worth the cost. But it IS the genuine and original, and the choice is yours.

As for traditional water stones, I don’t have a specific brand to recommend. Like I said in the video, you can find water stones in most kitchen wares stores. You can also spend obscene amounts of money on really high quality water stones, but if you’re watching this video, I really doubt you’ll be spending your money wisely.

Regarding strops, you can find those pretty cheap too, or you make one like I did. All you need is an old belt, a piece of flat wood, and some glue.

Good luck, and keep those knives sharp!
