Great video John, thank you for your service, and the two knives I bought from you are still as sharp as the day I received them. I an not an expert on the building of a knife, I went on personal recommendation of a couple of cops that have your knives. A friend of mine looked at one of the knives, (he is a knife guy, I am a gun guy), and he is telling me about the steel you used, thickness of the blade and the edge, and asked me who made it, and that he was very impressed, I thanked him for the technical info,( which really meant nothing to me), but the fit and feel of the knife in my hand, and your Kydex sheath won me over. Keep up the good work and Semper Fi.
What the fuck does WOKE nean
dude, I like to rock the cold steel G.I. tanto, ESEE 4, and 5, mora garberg, glock field knife, and OF COURSE the KaBAR USMC, and the cold steel leatherneck. In rotation depending on the mission set
The only reason I ever carried that KBAR was because I could buy it for $17.50 at the PX. Other than that, the thing was junk.
OMG!!! You went to war with an M8. We used those in basic and I never saw one again. Yikes! We used M9s.
The push knife from Cold Steel currently is the Safe Keeper series. Multiple sizes. I personally have the Safe Keeper II and the Safe Keeper III. They are still available.
I have to agree with your multitool. I used to be a Gerber man, but I realize the leatherman was a better product. Not that Gerber is bad.
FACT: U.S. enlisted personnel and officers are being subjected to compulsory exercises in groupthink that devalues American history and spreads contempt for traditional American values. Result: sharp decline in new recruit enlistment mirrors the rise of wokeness in military leadership.
Yes. The military is sure as hell WOKE. Reflecting the decline of a Nation under attack from its woke governing elite intent on its destruction from within.
Thanks for your service. I carried the first two you showed. The bayonet goes all the way back to the early 60s. I then went to a Gerber MKII. The knife I carried the most eas a model 14 Randell. I had thought about cutting the blade on the machete to 10 or 12 inches. Oh I was army. 101st AB. Good video.
Great video, just a slight notation – 8A1 is the scabbard / sheath. The bayonet / dagger it holds is the M7.
I was a 3 Rivers Marine……
Well, I worked there for awhile anyway. lol
No, but seriously….
I was in the Royal Rangers when I was younger. 🙂
KABAR Fixed Blade Short Tanto
Brought back some old memories from Vietnam. Broke the tip off chopping blocks of ice in the field, I was a Combat Infantryman, I used a file that we carried to sharpen our Ontario Machetes to round off the blade. The Puma Bowie was a great addition to my issued bayonet, that I never used and we never fixed bayonets. I still have the original leather scabbard that is rotten and held together with twine. It is a classic sheath. Later I carried a solid black knife similar to the Marine Corps K-Bar knife, I still have it in the old Puma Bowie knife scabbard, truly amazing combination to see. Leather doesn’t last in a wet environment like Vietnam. Enjoyed your knives.
I. Carried. USMC. Kabar. From 1975 to 1983. No. Woke in than. All. Real. Men. No. Sissy s. HOOAH. US Army. Veteran. Combat Engineer's. HOOAH
Semper Fi. I too carried the Gerber LMF ll as it just did it's shit. Main carry was however the cold steel Recon Bowie. Oooh Rash!
kabar usmc handle/tang is trash. I wouldnt trust my life with that knife
Great video, and thank you very much for your service to our country.
I have the KA-BAR 1213 with the Kydex Sheath. Great knife.
JT
Very true, Marines are Marines and they do what they do. Hospital Corps here. Great video.
Framed Dad's, lil brother and my K-bars, 4 in total. Ex wife is a museum curator so she was able to help preserve dirt/mud on brother's 2nd k-bar.
Yep same boyonet we did put it in our pack or dummy corded it. The thing is is most of ours did not come Sharp. They only got Sharp if we sharpen them. We usually didn't mess with sharpening them because we were also issued the ka-bars they were black instead of brown leather stacked handle in sheath. Does bayonets will only fit on a 20-inch barrel add a 14 and 1/2 inch barrel with GI boyonet lug.
Another words you got those knives from your own source and not from Lance corporal Smith H&S company that was missing a lot of stuff when it came to turn gear in.
Raaah devil dog.
Great video my m7 was made in 68 some were made by colt in before that for use on the m16s mines mil par used in Vietnam war got one cause my dad served there and was in reserves too .Ontario was one of the last to make it still make it .
I'm a huge knife guy but never served, thank you dude. This video was a real pleasure to watch and listen to. Was wondering if you ever carried or considered carrying the Buck 119. Sharpened one for a deer hunter friend of mine recently and was so taken by its design and sheath I went to Buck's website and ordered a custom build. Glad you're home safe and sound brother.
