My main EDC knife is an auto folder. The one I have places the safety next to the release button so I can open it with one motion.
For self defense, I like a small fixed-blade, currently a TDI Investigator, accessible to either hand.
I'm also in the plain edge club. If I need a serrated edge, my multitool has a saw blade.
In England we are not allowed to carry only the criminals carry knives and get away with it
I carry mostly tactical folder like cold steel ti lite 4 inch. I carried for 7 years long cold steel ak 47.
Good stuff bro!
While I prefer fixed blades, state regs apply depending on where you live. I love the double-lock CRKT M16 Carson folders as the alternative.
What’s your opinion of the balisong knife for self defense? I know that it’s a part of Filipino martial arts
My favorite "open cary" is a double edged Damascus full tang karambit, but I use a plastic spike for concealed carry.
I carry whatever Cold Steel in 5' or over that. My favourite is my Ti-Lite 6. And always a backup in the form of a fancy shank with kydex sheath.
Carry a fixed blade when you can. Folder when you have to.
I have a Schrade serrated 3.5'' blade….and a Chinese copy of a Spyderco serrated 3.5'' blade curved like a scimitar (had to due some minor adjustments on it) but what do you expect for a $ 5.00 knife lol. I carry both. The fake Spyderco is excellent for ''back cuts'' ( eye ball remover). Serrated blades are great if you need to cut a seat belt to free yourself or others from being trapped in an auto accident…..also, serrated blades can do hellacious damage to arteries when using a ''sawing'' motion.
My EDC is a Ghost Strike or a TDI. I'm saving up for a MDV Plus One from Skallywag and probably going to get a Cold Steel Tanto at some point. I like fixed blades but have a Spyderco folder when I have to wear a suit. Nothing fancy but they will save my ass in a pinch.
