long story short, no
Looks almost like KM blocks. BJJ sucks for knife defense.
This guy will get you killed , if they have a knife run. You will die
This is simply horrible. The attacker is not really trying to stab or slice. The hand and wrist would certainly get cut trying to grab the striking hand like that. Taking someone to the ground if there are multiple attackers is suicidal. When faced with a knife move away. Don't engage. Make them come for you. And God train something more effective than this for knife defense. Aikido is excellent for knife defense. Just about anything would be better than what is on this video.
No.
There were a bunch of hurt egos that disliked this video because they don't like to face the truth. The reality is that there's no martial art that offers solid, reliable knife defense. Not one. While a BJJ guy spends the next decade earning his black belt, it still won't be enough to counter a knife. I know it sucks to know that, but it's true. If you want to learn to defend against a weapon, it's best for you to train in weapons. Going bare-handed against a weapon is always the last resort.
