absorbing and neutralizing are different. Song does not mean be jello. Tensegrity is key and neutralizing keeps the force on the outside of the skin because internal movement displaces the force through moving the impact away from the area of impact

This is the harsh reality. Footwork is essential to deflect the massive pressure of the opponent.

@Enter Tai Chi People can make fun of tai chi chuan if they like, but nobody can point like a tai chi master that's picked up a sword. No other sword style has such mad pointing game. My pointing has became so good that my dog hates being told off now. This is true power. 😀

It's not that soft styles don't work. 99% of people don't understand what softness means. And it's not true that you can't produce softness. That's a wrong interpretation in my experience.

I will have to disagree with your general message. You can overpower hardness with softness head on. You don't necessarily need to convert.

Also, when you say that soft styles don't try to connect is a utter fallacy. That is not true at all. Taichi is about feeling, not predicting. What you said means you don't understand Taichi.

But I agree that what we call softness is not being limp or loose. Collapsing structure will never work. Softness is not what people think. It is not putting less force. That's not softness.

But true softness clearly can beat hardness. In Taichi, it's with proper Peng Jin. A kind if elastic force if you will.

I also agree that being softer is a matter of difference in hardness. A different in Song.

But you definitely can take the totality of a force through you and reflect back all of it without moving, if you're trained and skilled enough.

This is a great way of explaining it. I had a huge light bulb moment when you broke down the conversion and not wanting to allow the opponent energy to invade you or not wanting to soak it in. Thank you

I see what you're trying to say, but you are either spreading misinformation or are highly confused, and are now confusing other people.
What you are talking about, in converting energy, is literally the same thing of what soft styles are and is soft style's entire point. The absorbing part is the beginning of that skill used to convert. So you are adding to the entire confusion and misinformation that floods.the internet already about "fake martial arts" in reference to wing chun, wu Mei, tai chi and the likes..
You are literally contradicting even yourself throughout the entire vid…
What you should be saying is how many years it takes to master this skill to a level useful in full combat, and more to the point, mention how useful, however, sticking and absorbing AND conversion of energy (Controlling the opponents root and center energetically) can be in situations where someone is grabbing you or pushing you at the beginning of a confrontation, thereby Avoiding the fight altogether, which is The Entire Premise Of Martial Arts in the First Place!
Being able to control and direct yours as well as all energies around u is useful in Sooo many ways even outside of fighting. Telling people that it "Doesn't Work" and then just saying that it does in your own views twisting words around semantically , is absurd coming from a high level teacher such as yourself.
Please meditate on these words and reconsider your intentions and message, sifu. Because, forgive me for my boldness, but this comes off more as a business ploy or a smear campaign against other sifus and channels… just saying.
    Anyway, rant over. Lol
    Just had to say something.
    Have a good day everyone.
