It's subtle. But did anyone else pick up on the hints that kyle was in the military?

Doug is trash at swinging a blade. Fake it till you make it.

Wait do they ever put overforged blades on the table? Like the ones that got white hot and crumble?

Modern knife makers almost always make grips too long & the blades too heavy/no distal taper. Just those 2 things would make peoples weapons perform 100% better.

Tobin's handle was what caused the problems with the sharpness test. The blade turned in Doug's hands because of the size and shape of the handle, not because Doug made a mistake.

They need to replace their so-called martial arts blade "expert". Regardless of his people qualifications he obviously doesn't know what he's doing with that blade you can see him strike the rope with the first blade at a 90° angle you're not going to swing a blade at a 90° angle at a heavy rope and cut it I don't care what the blade is. The second blade you can see he cuts it again with angle flights into the rope easily but somehow he couldn't muster the strength to cut through a stupid fish ???? SCAMMMMM SHOW ! GET SOMEBODY THAT ACTUALLY KNOWS HOW TO SWING A PIECE OF STEEL !! I'M DONE WITH THIS SHOW IT'S GOT AN INCREDIBLY STUPID THIS IS THE FINAL STRAW

I think all the blades should be tested on a clothed dummy.

"When you start destructive testing, pretty much uniform the TIP is the weakest part of the blade." Is Tobin's statement here true, bladesmiths? If so, is it because of how small the tip is compared to the rest of the blade?

The commercial break editing is annoying. We don't need a refresher of what happened before the break when streaming it because there is no break. Even if there was a break, we don't need the refresher, just pick up where you left off. Who care's if it's tradition, it's useless. I hated it pre-streaming era when there was an argument to be made for it's use and really hate it now.

Doug's kill test was totally unfair. He used two hands on one sword and one hand on the other.

I see a lot of comments on the rope and fish cut test, and how there was user error and not ANY blade issue, but really there was partly user error and partly blade error. The handle was big af as said during the strength test, which caused Doug to mess up a little on the edge alignment, which caused the rope cut issue

That final test was goofy af. Strange order with the kill test last, strange outcome with the rope getting cut but not the fish, and they didn’t even say “Welcome to the (x) test.” for each one like they always do.

RIGGED COMPETITION. Just watch the test in slow motion, it’s the way the test cut was unfair.
All control how the blade was handled.
