I wasn't sure this was your open tag. My biggest gripe about most neck knives is they are just too small. A precursor to the neck knife was the Bodice Dirk often sported by women in the 16th-17th Century for personal protection. Some corsets even had a lace in area for the scabbard. These were significantly larger than today's Neck knives and were worn by women who were on average just 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall.
