Ninja stick fighting includes hanbojutsu ('half-staff' skills), jojutsu ('three-quarter staff skills'), bojutsu ('6 ft staff skills'), and leads to longer pole arms like the spear (yari) and halberd (naginata). Historically, the hanbo and jo were seen as "what-if" weapons in case your longer weapon were to be cut. But today, the hanbo should be seen as a primary weapon due to cultural changes, etc. Where do you need help with this important weapon in your self-defense arsenal?
Thank you for this series! Excellent technique and insight. Very helpful!
Nice topic. Is this going to be the topic of today's virtual class as well, or will something else be covered? Either way looking forward to class.
