Building a Battery Box. Part 7 – Battery Cables and Adapter KarambitKnives, com

qcreek11 Oct 21

In Part 7 of my Building a Battery Box series, I build the battery cables using 2 AWG marine battery cable and SB120 Anderson Power Pole connectors. When used with cable and not soldered to a board, SB120 connectors will support 225A I think. I also build an adapter from SB120 to SB50 since some of my equipment using the smaller SB50. I installed the SB120 anticipating running larger loads like a 2000W inverter.

In this episode, I discuss cable glands, cable routing to reduce strain on the cable glands, stripping large cable with a utility knife, crimping lugs with a hydraulic crimper, and adhesive-line heat shrink tubing.
