From A preview of my Bujinkan video exploring 短刀払い技 Tantō Harai Waza. We began with basic 小手 打ち Kote uchi warmup. We do this with the blade, the flat side, or even the back of the tantō.

From here we began 体変払い技 taihen harai waza. After the kote uchi, we shift our body, allowing the tantō to sweep aside the opponent’s stab. This is not a block because we stay connected to the opponent in order to control before executing any counter. #bujinkan #武神館 #短刀 #tanto #knife
