Nice!
This year's wedding anniversary I'll buy my wife a nice diamond plate, I'm sure she'd appreciate
Personally ive always used whatevers cheapest but i really should get diamond sharpeners. I make blades from scratch so it would save some time
Yup. Tried em all. They all work. Pick one type and learn it.
If you're new to wood working, id highly suggest a diamond stone. It cant go outta flat and works fast. I struggled to learn how to sharpen on a whetstone but picked it up pretty quick on a cheap 20 dollar diamond stone off amazon then bought a 15 dollar holder for it.
I love my diamond stone cause of how low effort and easy it is to keep out, got it on a folding table with a few rags and a can of wd40 and i can just bring my chair over and get something sharp within a few minutes. I just got one of the cheapo diamonds stones off amazon along with a thing to hold it on (make sure you got a folded rag/small towel under it so i doesnt mess up your table)
Tbh cheap diamond plates are good enough for me I don't even need something like DMT stones for my need
How do we feel about people that use sandpaper? Had a friend tell me to use that over what I’ve been using for years. Diamond, ceramic(corse to fine), then leather.
Call it a cardinal sin but I have never flattered any of my stones, had them forever and have a mild divit in them. The concave curve makes the edge curved instead of flat. They still sharpen to a razors edge and I only use them for my own tools so why flatten them?
I love my Arkansas stones. Those are what I learned on and I love the tactile feedback and the fact they need almost no upkeep.
Got it. Sharpen all tools using an angle grinder duct taped to a bench and use gasoline as the fluid.
"None of them are worth fighting over"?! …sounds like fighting words to me! 😉
People be fighting over which sharpener works best and I'm sitting here with my 10 year old unsharpened home depot special chisel like: "I made this bird house 🙂
