I put in empty plastic bottles (water bottles, drink bottles etc) to fill up planters to keep them light. It fills the space and allows for drainage.

You can use cut up pool noodles to fill your flowers pots! The Dollar Tree has started selling them year round for crafts although you might actually still have them in stores for pools since you live in FL. Also sticks. I just picked up a bunch from the trees in my yard and used a combo of the pool noodles and sticks. Hope that helps!
