Under no circumstances is 1075 better than 1095. None.

Scoob42 had the question on Minimalist and SPEW, I have both setup with pull the tab soft lloops. Left hand horizontal draw get-off-me tip overlapping belt buckle(my appendix carry). I did have to add larger holes to attach toe soft loop, do you know of any options that would fit the smaller holes?

Hey David, thanks for the great video. I have a question for you. Is The Knife Center ever going to consider selling your cap in the same color of green or red like the shirts you wear when creating your videos? These are two cool colors and I would love to buy a cap with either of these colors. Please let me know David. Take care and thank you very much. Jimmy.

I made my own strop out of a piece of flattened hardwood sandwiches between two pieces of leather, one finished side out and the other suede side out. I find that the smooth side achieves a finer edge and recently I've discovered that stropping the same direction improves the edge a bit too.

Just a note for knives like the crkt spew. Calling them 3-and-a-half grip knives is misrepresenting them a bit and making them sound inadequate. They are not meant for general cutting work that would require a full hand grip. They are meant to be used with the index finger resting on the blade to control it better. They are meant for more controlled and delicate work.

Have a fairly specific question for you: I have been carrying a pocket knife for a while but am only recently getting into the knife game as a whole.

Currently, I tend to carry my Kershaw Leek or Cold Steel Crawford the most, but am looking for something a bit different. Hoping to find a non-assisted flipper, roughly 3.5-3.75”, but with a safety to keep it from opening. Basically, my Crawford but with the ability to lock it closed. Family guy, so always am carrying around the kids and would prefer the added peace of mind, I’ve had the Crawford partially open and was not too excited about that. Less than $100 ideal.. thanks!

There's a difference between being "very impressed with yourself" and "very satisfied with your work."

And I think it's fair to say we're all here because we like knives!

Sick mods on that fixed blade, it looks amazing! I was hoping you'd show it when it when you pulled it out to show off the ulti-clip; you didn't dissapoint!

DCA, question for ya…I have the bench made saddle mountain skinner in S90V. I love the knife, but hate the sheath, no way to carry it except in pack. What options do you recommend to carry it on Molle straps on a pack or on a belt when in the outdoors without my pack like around camp? Thanks.

Hey David, I was wondering why some remove the coating from certain knives. Im looking at buying the White River Backpacker and wondering what the key differences between the coated and satin versions are.

David-knife maintenance question- what should I be wiping on my non-stainless blades (D2, K390. Etc.) to keep them from rusting. I don’t live far from you guys at the KnifeCenter and it tends to get more than a little humid sometimes.

I have 1 Ontario RAT I and 3 Ontario RAT III knives. They are my favorite all around knives. I have a couple Spyderco's and Kershaw's in my collection also.

Question for the next video: What would you recommend for a backup kitchen knife? (small paring/general chef's blade)
I've used a Benchmade Crooked River in S90V for food prep before and I know the Spydiechef is always another popular choice. Looking for other recommendations, ideally smaller fixed blades with a good quality stainless steel (something from the CPM family) that holds an edge well and has good slicing properties. (Edit – I do have a proper knife set, just looking for something that would work as a good extra piece)

I use one micron or 14,000 grit diamond paste for quick stropping my leather cutting tools even out of the box replaceable razor blades.

Hey DCA! Can you show the Armaduras Crusaders Shield? There is no dimensions on the site, and was wondering how big it is and how it looks up close. Thinking about putting one up on my wall for decoration! Also how about showing some swords to pair with it? Thank you!

Hey David, I really enjoy and learn a lot from your Q&A videos. I have a question for you. I have a Tops Smoke Jumper with a custom made leather sheath, it has 2 straps that run across the sheath belly for additional accessories and optional scout carry. I would like to add a large flipper as a backup to slide on one of the straps. Price range around $100-150. I don’t have any curtain steel mind only that it holds a good edge.

Quick question for DCA. I just got my new Manix 2 (S30v,G-10) and it got me thinking about all the different kinds of locking mechanisms Spyderco knives use and I got me thinking which one is your favourite? Thanks and a warm hello from Saskatchewan, Canada!

Q:  DCA – Can you speak to what features make a good camping/hiking/backup hunter folding knife and suggest a few knives, probably sub $50?
I want to give my 13 year old son, a growing outdoorsman and hunter, his first knife. He carries his great-grandfather's KA BAR fixed blade in his hunting pack (possibly a KABAR 507 – I have not positively ID'd it yet) for sentimental reasons.  I want to get him a usable folder that can handle most camping cutting tasks and clean a duck or deer in a pinch.  Ontario Rat No. 2 would make sense, but I want some other options.  I thought perhaps a Civivi Backlash, but saw more than one review that loved the knife, but not for a camping type knife.  I'm not sure why-perhaps you can help me understand why not.  Steel Will Cutjack seems like another option.  Pintail?  Something more corrosion resistant than D2 would seem to make sense if it could be had within my price point (set mostly since the knife could get lost).  I really enjoy your youtube postings – your delivery is exceptionally informative and efficient.
