Sharing some snippets of using the makiwara for combinations.
the focus was on movement, flow, and general accuracy.
I love the makiwara as a tool as its usage and benefits are so broad. 🧘♂️👊
You can get good depth penetration from both closer and further by adjusting the technique of the punch.
Most body shots and neck strikes need significantly more depth penetration to cause damage.
I like using the whip versus spear analogy.
Biomechanics of the punch should be suitable to that situation and circumstance. Where you are hitting is a major factor for how you should hit.
