I carry a folding karambit with an emerson wave. The first reason I do this so that, as I pull the knife out, the wave catches on my pants and auto deploys. The second reason, is that most folding knifes don't have a guard or something preventing your hand from sliding down the knife; so, to prevent this, I got the karambit (which has both the finger hole and a "guard", which is basically the pertruding piece you'd normally push to deploy a folding knife). I'm thankful that I haven't had to use it, but I am also thankful that I don't have to worry (as much) about a loose grip or me dropping the knife easily.
