the young guy he stabbed now has a massive horrible scar on his belly, he'll never look aesthetic again in this age of social media, and every time he takes his shirt off people will ask and he'll have to tell the story: "oh some lunatic stabbed me"

Mieu has been sentenced for prison for a long time. As his defense attorney stated – self defense is a community standard. The jury who were comprised of locals in a rural county felt Mieu was guilty despite strong evidence that it was self defense. Wisconsin does not have a duty to retreat, and watching the video Mieu was surrounded and then assaulted by multiple people in a river where he could have easily drowned. They continued to hold his head down after he fell and anyone would have had good reason to believe that they could have come to serious harm. Drunken violence is common occurance along these rivers and I think the locals who comprised the jury are well aware of that.

3rd once we wen around them they started callin him names and pushing him around. He was tryjng to get up and they kept pushing him.
Where was the parents of these kids ? As a parent i have never gave my give my 17 year old daughter alcohol
1000%, I watched the trial for this one. He was the first one to approach them, had 3 opportunities to walk way, but he turned back around each time. Also, he didn't show the knife, instead keeping it hidden at his side. Also didn't say anything and seemed very calm right before stabbing. People act like this is a Rittenhouse situation, but it's really not. Mieu was guilty, Rittenhouse was innocent.
He's not going to jail, he's going to prison.
Jail = 364 days or less or prior to conviction if going over the 364 days
Prison = 365 days or more.
