In a situation where you need a good knife, having paid collector's prices for a single knife does not guarantee any greater success in your endeavors. If you find an inexpensive knife that serves you and your purposes well, that's the knife you need. Ten good, workable knives you can afford (and that fulfill the "two is one…" rule) are far better than one expensive knife that will eventually fail.

This isn’t a threat to Benchmade. Anyone looking into a Benchmade is way past a knife like this and probably has different concerns with their knives. To me this knife is a threat to smaller budget brands like Knafs who might never get discovered because someone may just stop at this knife. At face value and specs they appear the same except at price.

I own and buy a lot of expensive knives, I have found out that for certain purposes expensive isn’t always better. It is apparent to me and everyone else that were intimidated by Benchmade and went out of your way not to offend them. Your bias was so apparent that your mind was made up before the test even started. I treat knives with respect for what they are. I had subscribed to your channel because I thought you would always give honest opinions. After watching you and your comedic sidekick I am unsubscribing from your channel. I will also not waste another dime on Benchmade knives. What you accomplished with this test is destroyed your credibility with me and made me realize that Benchmade is way over priced for the quality of their knives. I am sure that Benchmade can’t be too happy with you for hurting their brand. Maybe your channel is so well established that you don’t care about 1 person unsubscribing from your channel but, I wouldn’t be surprised if there are others. This test and your biased comments were a joke from the beginning. Sorry Benchmade but, you put your faith in the wrong people to represent you.

There other thing you proved to me…
I think we've all had a really low quality knife that falls apart to light duty every day Tasks.

Look how much abuse it took for you to break the Ozark.
Yes the Bugout faired slightly better through the worst traumas and tortures.
But I'm impressed by how well the Ozark held up.

    To be fair though…

The Bugout didn't 'outlast' 17 or 18 of the Ozark.
    Its just a $10 vs $180 test.

If we were discussing, perhaps Barrel Life in a target rifle…

We could discuss how many rounds each barrel can sustain before it is no longer serviceable, or accurate.
In such case, if you 'burned out' 18 of the economy barrels, before you burned out 1 of the premium barrels…

If it was say 1000 vs 18000 rounds…
That would match the 18 vs 1 concept.

And maybe you would like to have one awesome EDC.
But the beautiful thing I saw here, was that you could absolutely feel 'okay' about getting a $10 Ozark for every kit.
Leave one in every glove compartment.
    Leave one in every bag.
Even if it is just a backup to your pocket EDC,
Even if it is a step or two lighter duty…

You proved that the Ozark is surprisingly serviceable even holding up half decent through nasty abuse.

Sharpness… Smaller numbers equal sharper blade?
The dull blades after cardboard were pushing 400+.
After sharpening, back to 200 ish.

Cardboard is hard on blade edges. For sure.

I like Benchmade's designs but they've gone off the deep end. The bugout was hard to justify years ago at $120. It should be a $90-$100 knife.

Is the bugout a little bit better? Yes. But like 2× better, not 18×

Even Dutch Bushcraft didn’t break either of their Bugouts. Of course, they only batoned the knives. They didn’t try to snap the handles.

The $10 knife is great to get kids in scouts!! It's hard to find a knife with an axis lock. That fact alone I think makes it perfect for kids!
