A concise, yet in-depth review of the Schrade SCH 111. It is hard to find a better knife than this for around $20.

Too large to conceal as a neck knife

I love the look of the knife but you know of one that looks alot like this one only bigger? If so can you reply with a link? Thank you
I bought one for $19.99 on Amazon after purchasing the similar DMAX karambit for $135 from Doug Marcaida. The Schrade is superior. If your hand is wide and starts to touch the blade’s edge all you have to do is grind off 1/8-1/4 inch of the blade’s inside edge with a Dremel or file. That’s what I did and it’s amazing how perfect it turned out, and no chance of cutting my hand. I wasted my money on the DMAX because since it has a chiseled edge it can never get very sharp. This Schrade is pretty damn sharp out of the box.
You might want to replace the necklace part of this. There’s nothing wrong with it, but a thicker 3mm stainless steel necklace can be purchased on Amazon for $6. It’s superior to any of these neck knife necklaces and it looks like you are wearing a piece of jewelry instead of a weapon.
Just ordered this for my first Karambit. The blade looks as though i may be able to sharpen it without buying curved stones, Hopefully. Not worried about the 9cr being subpar because i will not be using it for regular tasks.
Is it worth it? I'm planning to get it but i'm worried about its sheath. Does it come out easily? I want to use it as neck knife as my self defense does it fit very tightly to the sheath?
Great review good to know about the "Medium" handle size! Thank you!
What you have was actually meant to be the small version of a small/large pair. Morgan, in his infinite wisdom, opted out of producing the larger version. The edge geometry has been bad from the start. I told Morgan numerous times that they were coming with unusable edges and he guaranteed me it would be fixed without addressing the actual issue same as with the 112. Most people end up liking the custom G-10 live blade versions I make for $15 more than the steel Schrade version.
