Speed vs Accuracy in a Gun Fight | Joe Teti and Dale Comstock KarambitKnives, com
Combat shooting requires both speed and accuracy. In a real life self defense situation when you are shooting and the attacker is shooting back (or charging you with a knife) you will have to be both fast and accurate. So it’s critical you learn to balance these factors.
Once you reach a basic level of marksmanship competency with your handgun, shooting a tight group very slowly should be no problem and 5-10 yards. You must start there. Then it’s your job to constantly push yourself to be faster, without sacrificing accuracy that will diminish your effectiveness in a gunfight.
In this video, Military and Government Special Operations Veteran Joe Teti visually demonstrates what this will look like on your targets. You want to push your skills to achieve as fast of a rate of fire as you can while maintaining an acceptable group size. What is an acceptable group size? Watch the video to see. Bottom line, if your target looks too pretty, you aren’t pushing yourself.
As former Green Beret and Delta Force Operator Dale Comstock points out toward the end of the video, if you are struggling with improving your speed, you may need to reorient your focus onto the front sight of your gun. It’s a very common problem for intermediate shooters to focus on the target. You can shoot really well in a slow controlled manner this way, but you will never be able to shoot fast until you learn to focus on the front sight.

Good stuff (as usual), cheers!
I thought this was excellent. most stuff is mumbo jumbo when listening. This rang very clear and to the point. excellent!
That is a great tip on how to focus on the front sight and then squeeze the trigger. I point and shoot mostly with a hand gun. I spray and curse when shooting with an automatic submachine gun. How about a video on shooting while avoiding being a target. Then maybe another video on the techniques of quick draw. "Reach for it Mister…."
Great Video finding balance is key
Were you moving while shooting or standing still. I don't think you are going to be standing still in a real life situation maybe at times you will be still but probably most of the time you will be on the move to find cover or at least concealment
Staple/affix a cardboard "anchor" to the bottom of the paper targets when dealing with air current @the range …indoor on the wire, either "+" "T" or "X"
WoW!!
Appreciate it.
