Safest Floor to Stay In A Hotel Tips
Traveling can be a stressful experience, especially if you are caught off guard and not fully prepared for an unfortunate event like a robbery or a medical emergency.

In this FightFast video, Joe Teti and Dale Comstock give us some very important travel safety tips that not many think about. Here are some key tips on choosing the safest floor to stay in a hotel:

Avoid the Ground Floor:

The ground floor is easily accessible from the outside, making it a common target for break-ins. Opt for a higher floor to reduce this risk.
Stay Between the 3rd and 6th Floors:

These floors are high enough to deter most criminals but still within reach of fire department ladders in case of an emergency. It’s a good balance between security and safety.
Check Fire Exits:

Ensure your floor has easy access to fire exits. Know the location of stairwells and escape routes in case of an emergency.
Be Aware of Nearby Facilities:

Avoid staying on floors directly above or below high-traffic areas like bars, restaurants, or conference rooms. These can attract more foot traffic and increase the risk of incidents.
Elevator Proximity:

Rooms closer to the elevator can provide a quicker escape route, but they can also be noisier. Balance your need for safety with your need for a good night’s rest.
Secure Your Room:

Always use all available locks on your hotel room door. Consider bringing a portable door lock or doorstop for added security.
Keep Valuables Hidden:

Use the hotel safe to store valuables. If there’s no safe, keep them well-hidden and locked in your luggage.
Check for Security Cameras:

Ensure your floor and the hotel have adequate security measures like surveillance cameras in the hallways and common areas.
Request a Room Change if Needed:

If you feel uncomfortable with your room’s location, don’t hesitate to request a change. Your peace of mind and safety are paramount.
Stay Alert:

Always be aware of your surroundings. Report any suspicious activity to hotel staff immediately.

Great video as always. Hate the stupid advertising 30 seconds into every video though
