This is a tutorial on how make a type of knife called a sub-hilt knife. It has an extra hilt on it so when you hold it your index finger is container. This makes it more difficult for the knife to be pulled out of your hand. I show you the whole process of making the knife using the stock removal method. This is where we do most of the work with hand tools. We just need a heat source like a forge in order to harden and temper the steel so it is knife worthy.
I show you everything including the type of steel, cutting and shaping the handle, gluing the handle pieces on and making the bevel in the blade. The only thing I don’t do is the sharpening of the blade.
