Well, any knife against an unarmed opponent has a huge advantage. If the knife fighter knows how to use the knife, chances are very likely the unarmed defender will suffer deadly strikes if the one wielding the knife wants to kill their opponent.
Now, if you had to deal with an armed opponent, I would question is this was the best type of knife to choose to increase the probability of surviving the fight.
