Looking for a good resource to women's self-defense. Knowing that crime rates of sexual violence, and rape or other horrendous crimes are advancing from bad to worse on through extreme worsening conditions. Especially here in the United States the hate and violence related crimes are increasingly getting more prominent or horrendous.

It's already beginning to become so dangerous in certain areas of the United States of America or just about anywhere that a woman can no longer walk or travel anywhere by herself.

I've been having fear that a civil war or severe civil rights conflict, perhaps even WW3 could still one day be brewing up. Worse of all is a racist or severe religious conflict leading up to a war.

Still unpredictable wars, and severe civil rights conflicts or riots could still happen.

I attended a Tai Kai in San Francisco in 1989 with a friend who was a student of ninjutsu. It was taught by Hatsumi. Watching him in action was a fascinating event to witness.
I was there to take photos for my friend. Being there to learn from the Grand Master was a dream come true for him and he wanted all the documentation he could get. I was decent enough with a camera, and had a real nice Canon AE-1 with 5X telephoto lens. The first day I positioned myself on the opposite side of the circle from where my friend and his wife were standing so when I took photos I could get them in the back ground.

After the first ten minutes, or so I was approached by Hatsumi's security detail. They asked me to step back then questioned me about who I was, and who I worked for. I was a bit confused as my friend had confirmed photography would be okay, but I told them my name and worked for a book store in Oregon. They signaled Hatsumi, and he stopped the training to walk over with another man.

I looked at my friend who had such a paniced looked on his face when he saw Hatsumi walking towards me and the security guys I thought he might pass out, and his wife was looking rather worried. The man with Hatsumi was a translator. He asked my name and then asked if I worked for any magazine, or did any freelance photography selling to any publications. That made it clear why I was being questioned, they wanted to make sure there were not any unauthorized photos being sold to martial arts magazines, or being used in any kind of advertising.

Apparently they were all okay with my explanation of being there to take photos for my friend only. Then they asked who was my friend and where was he. I gave his name and pointed to him. When Hatsumi raised his hand to waive my friend over I really thought my buddy was going to pass. Being introduced to Hatsumi had him so nervous he could hardly speak from jis excitement. Hatsumi asked through the tranlsator if my friend would like me to take a photo with him, and his wife standing with Hatsumi, thankfully my buddy did not pass out or pee his pants, and I got a photo I expect still hangs on his wall to this day. I filled 150 frames over the 3 days. ever got to see the prints though as they had to wait to get them developed and they lived in Texas, we lost contact not long after.
