good review. i currently own an emerson horseman… im rather disapointed with it though because the lockup is sticky as anything… is it that way on this knife? this is the only other emerson that i REALLY want
to loosen up the blade, take it apart, clean the pivot area and relube. it takes a few hundred opening to really get smooth. the lock up sounds fine – i wouldn't worry about it. the blade tip looks like it is farther to one side because it is chisel ground – think of it as an optical illusion. again there is nothing to worry about. emerson makes the best karambits IMO. thanks for the comments!
I just got my very first emerson combat karambit but I am a bit dissanpointed. The karambit blade is very tight and the lock bar only lock up halfway. I will clean it re-oil and brake it in when I get a chance. One other thing that I did not like is the blade. It is centered in the liner but it seems like the blade tip will hit when closing the blade.
@hux5150 having trouble responding to your message – yt is not working right.
i think that the cuts one would make with a karambit are typically 3" – 6" so if the cut deviates by an inch or to in either direction over those lengths, it won't really matter.
yes the titanium does wear on the emersons but he warranties them so he'll replace the lock bar if it happens.
@hux5150 thanks for the advice – you made some very good points. i have learned more about the karambit since the video was made. i disagree that the chisel grind will cause problems in a defensive situation. maybe cutting paper it will go off at an angle but if used for self defense a) i am not worried about straight cuts and b) doubt that would change the outcome. thanks again for all the comments.
Good review. I tried a Karambit once and ended up selling it for 2 reasons: 1- The blade wasn't practical for utility purposes, 2- I didn't like the big loop sticking out of my pants pocket.
I really hate chisel grind.
Well done.
Can somebody easily pull it out your pocket by grabbing on a ring?
Is the clip set for right hand out of the box or did you change it over when you disassembled it?

But how are Emerson and fox connected?
Me personally I think fox knifes look a little more cool

i do not think it makes a good edc blade. i usually carry a second blade when i carry it. something like a bm 705 or a sage 2.
It feels good – just be aware the handle sticks out above the pocket.

@DrWrongPaul ha, ha – i might do a knife collection vid, so it will be in it.
@FoldingKnifeFanatic thanks!
@n2wilderness i agree that it sticks out more than other blades. i carry a second knife for utility work (usually a dfly or bm707).
