Woodturning-Ugly Chunk of Wood into a Stunning Bowl KarambitKnives, com
Being a bowl turner is one of the most satisfying aspects of hobbyist woodworking. This found on ground wood that revealed itself to be spalted walnut, turned on my woodturning lathe into a functional piece of art. However this handmade wooden bowl turned out to be quite problematic with quite a few voids and cracks that needed to be filled with black CA glue. Still I stuck with it to the end and used Yorkshire Grit Original and Microfine to get a beautiful finish with a beautiful luster. I had troubles uploading this video and gave up, eventually posting it to my main channel. I realized the intro was kind of a bummer and removed it , so now I’m putting it here where it originally belonged.

That quarter sawn grain looks like sycamore, but I've never seen it that dark. The brown and white half of the piece is spalted. It's a really nice looking bowl.
