I’m not even trying it on an actual butterfly knife. I’m trying it on a Lego.
Best to use a traditional balisong with the lock. That way you actually practice a draw from the pocket or waistband. It's also easier to keep track of the "blade" side because the catch is always the side that you can open the lock with your pinky in the traditional opening.
