  1. Larry McCauley says:

In the UK we are fortunate enough, as a society, not to be armed to the teeth, nor do we wish to be. No one has disarmed us as we were never armed. Having said that seeing lethal force used as the first option in the US is crazy.

  2. Conrad Compagna says:

If the guy wielding that knife actually wanted to do damage, he would have killed both of those cops. He was just bluffing. The only way to stop a determined attacker with a knife is to shoot him. And I'm politically very liberal by the way, I'm just speaking truth.

  3. Karl Hungus says:

I'm as critical of the police as anyone, but if a person charges you with a raised knife, you are absolutely, positively justified in shooting that person until he is on the ground and not moving. That goes for you, for me, for this guy's ex-girlfriend, his chiropractor, and yes, for a police officer.

  4. Signkutter signkutter says:

that situation could have easily gone the opposite direction…. the man with the knife had no intention of stabbing anybody….if he had…he would have. If a guy is coming at me with a butcher knife …he is getting shot.

  5. Ethan Mallett says:

I live in the UK and i think the answer for America is to increase gun control so cops won't need guns I mean the public don't need them do they, I can understand a handgun in your draw but I've seen light machine guns on sale in the states as home defense weapons what are you going to use that for singlehandedly stopping an invasion of nazi paratroopers, you need to have normal cops with non lethal weapons and keep your specialist SWAT teams for armed criminals.

  6. Sean Bayne says:

the reason the officers did not shoot is because your every day patrol officers in england are not armed with firearms if the call their on leads to someone with a fire arm they will call special trained officers called co19 or firearms officers also the gun laws are very strict in the uk so it is very hard to own a firearm in the uk

  8. Jack D. Ripper says:

There is one self-defense shooting for every 22 accidental, suicidal or criminal shootings — hardly support for the notion that having a gun handy makes people safer.

Twenty-two times more likely a suicide, accidental shooting or a criminal assault IN YOUR OWN HOME WITH YOUR OWN GUN!

There is no rational argument against gun control.

  9. Andy Wilson says:

they are lucky that guy didn't actually charge . there are tons of videos where once they actually charge and stab people , it far deadly then you think. those UK cop's where just plain lucky , they just won the not dieing lottery.

  10. Official James Parker says:

If officers rid guns, criminal still have them; if the country rids guns, nobody has them. Having a 'right' for a gun, is just like the right to defend yourself… and I don't cause fights just to exercise the right of defence, but yet having a metal object is important. Why? If people have guns, police need guns. If people don't have guns, police don't need guns. It's really quite simple. England doesn't allow guns, and I'm glad.

  11. Daniel Lewis says:

We don't need guns in the UK.. Our police laugh at US police.. because they're a bunch of pussy's. We watch US cop shows, where it needs 15 cops to take down one aggressive man.. In the UK it takes just 2 officers to take down a man wielding a knife, even more impressively, without the use of a gun/taser. Difference between British and Americans is that we're proud of our police forces and respect the jobs they do.

  12. Molly Clifford says:

People are saying stuff like, "they should have at least tasered him" or "If I had a gun i'd have shot him in the legs, he deserved it!" but that makes no sense. Why would you have to harm someone if there's a way to subdue them without harming them (as shown in this video)?
