    @smux What a utopia to think that we should not bother to try and defend ourselves against a knife – is this your solution? I have been attacked by a knife as have a few of my students. I can honestly say and so can the student that what I showed him saved his life. The rubber knives we use leave a black smudge on the Gi so we have that pen thing covered and we are under no illusions about how difficult a knife attack is. My first piece of advice is to run but that is not always possible.

    Nice technique. You could add, as you are blocking (0:36), a fast and sharp kin geri, which will make the attacker bend his body forward further out of balance due to the pain after the kick, and the carrying on with the technique as explained in the video.
