    No, just no to all that fma kung fu, It doesnt translate well to sparring AT ALL, when people strike they dont do so outside of the pocket, they do so in close. And no one is intercepting a downward strike if you know what youre doing, you evade the strike then pin the striking arm against the belly after the downward thrust, then have at it. If you have to parry, dont do it like this, crash in and go for the clinch, watch out for a change in knife hands and open their belly. A belly cut isnt deadly but from what ive researched, its hard to continue fighting while evicerated.
