Want to absolutely destroy your blade? Run it through that carbide sharpener. If you want a small pull through sharpener to put in your pack get one that has dual ceramic (coarse and fine) files. I wouldn't sharpen any knife worth more than 10 bucks with carbide. I know your blades aren't that dull to need to strip/ realign your edge like carbide does.

WOW DUDE YOUR 5 MINUTE VIDEO CAN BE SAID IN 20 SECONDS. THIS IS DESIGNED FOR A QUICK LIGHTWEIGHT SHARPNER IN A SURVIVAL OR EMERGENCY SITUATION ONLY. WITH THAT SAID QUIT TRYING TO COMPARE THIS CHEAP TOOL TO THE EXPENSIVE ONES CAUSE OF COURSE THEY ARE BETTER DUH! 2ND NO 1 IS GOING TO CARRY A HEAVY ASSSS SHARPNER ON HIKING, KAYAKING, OUTDOOR TRIPS SIMPLY CAUSE ITS JUST SHORT TERM FUN/HOBBIE. SO THIS DESIGN IS PERFECT FOR SHORT TERM USE. IF YOUR GOING TO BE LONG TERM THEN YES A HEAVY DUTY SHARPNER WOULD BE THE ANSWER. HAPPY TRAVELS

Ok this doesn't ruin your blade it's made for emergency use. And sorry to say this but unless you buy cheap knives then this will sharpen your knife in a pinch it's for emergencies not everyday quality sharpening .

I bought this a few years back. I have yet to find a knife of mine that is thin enough to sharpen with this tool. I'd rather carry a couple small stones with me and get a much better edge. But to each their own.

This video is reassuring.  I was worried I ruined the micro bevel on my mora black.  Smith's had replied to me though and explained that the mora's micro bevel will eventually follow the angle of the pocket pal.  Im just glad to hear that your mora is shaving sharp and still usable from using the pocket pal. Thanks!
