    for a trainer I would just use bar stock and a grinder to shape a blade profile. your wrapping the handle so it doesn't need a fancy profile anyway. less expense and materials and can be found at home despot (depot). otherwise great vid. every knife ive seen has been plastic. safe but really sucks when you try to rake or demonstrate pressure. thx for the vid will make a couple for myself 🙂

    I agree with you that buying realistic looking practice knives can get pricey. Before I started making my own I used to buy basic trainers from Kombat Instruments. They have pretty good prices. Also, I have found that the aluminum training knifes made by Keen Edge Knives are very good, and you can get them with a Kydex shealth.
