This is a whole different technique that may well have it's roots in Tai Boxing !
Obviously it now transcends to whoever adapts it to suit themselves ,
But the basic point is it is impact using ones shin .

I can vouch that other parts of ones limb can generate more power due to rotational force being greatest at the furthest point from its source , such as wielding a bat – The greatest force is at the end of the bat , and the force redusec up the bat back towards the handle , it can be somewhat likened to being hit with a 300mm stick or a 1m stick and so on .
Ones limbs work the same when kicking in a circular motion .

There are of course many other factors at play , but the above information is one facet within many that makes up or forms kicking possibility within circumstance .

    I FOUND THIS VIDEO VERY INTERESTING ! ! !

That kicking guy is all muscle , a truly conditioned professional ! ! !

That shuffle brings back memories and leg cramps.:) I made my own set up with a piece of lumber a small sandbag called a shock bag and tied it to a tree to practice at home after 7 years away from conditioning it's like starting over but feels good painfully good.
