so I've tried to teach myself how to throw knives and youtube videos only do so much…. one of my questions was is it normal to have to be at an exact range? I can only get the knives i have to stick at 7ft and 14ft also they have to come out of my hand perfectly and if i hold them to tight they dont spin is this normal or do i just suck?

Great Videos, on a cool thing to know how to do! But, Wear safety glasses! You've heard the phrase, "It only takes once." Well, that's what happened to me. I was the guy that always made people put on safety glasses when they came into the shop, I always wore them when I worked. The one time I didn't put them on to use the wire wheel, a wire flew out and hit my eye dead center, going into my eye a half inch, through the Iris, Cornea and Lens.
They saved it, I can see out of it, but not that well. That wire was in my eye for 4 hours with no pain kilker. That's a long time and a lot of pain to think about how I would never do that again. So protect your eyes from ricocheting knives.
Keep up the Great Work and Training!
